good to EAR... good to HEAR... a MUSIC from HEART to the HEART

     Tired of hearing loud music now a days???
why don't you try to listen to the music that
brings back the old memories...

here is one of the music that my Lola loves to sing.

Title:          DAHIL SA IYO (Because of You). 1938.
Music :      Mike Velarde Jr;
Lyrics :      Dominador Santiago.
Sung by:    Diomedes Maturan

About :
      Velarde's composition which is in slow duple time has been described as "being urbane. . .the slick verses masking provincial nostalgia." It is typically the music of the Big City of the 1930's with a sophistication and a lightness of sound that is still filled with the romanticism of the rustic Filipino lover. From its popularity with the Filipino movie crowd of the 1930s, it enjoyed a revival in the 1960's when it evolved into a classic art song with the interpretation of Aurelio Estanislao, followed by virtually all student singers of that time. Written by Velarde for the movie Bituing Marikit which starred Rogelio de la Rosa in 1937, "Dahil Sa Iyo" has been translated into English, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and the local dialects.
